‘I Would Be in Jail Today’
Michael Flynn addressed the Republican National Convention last summer, screaming, “Lock her up!” It wasn’t the first or the last time the retired general, campaigning for Donald Trump, would utter those words. Flynn, under a wave of controversy, resigned Monday night as Trump’s National Security Advisor for getting caught about lying to Vice President Pence about his talks with Russian government officials. Some are saying his actions may have been illegal.
“If I, a guy who knows this business, had done a tenth of what she did, I would be in jail today,” Flynn says.
Some are accusing Flynn of violating the Logan Act, of promising the Russians Trump would lift Obama’s sanctions if he got elected, and of possibly acting under the direction of Trump.
