‘He Absolutely Has to Go’: Reince Priebus Must Resign if He Contacted FBI About Russia Says Former DOJ Spokesman

‘Simply Scandalous. He Should Be Fired, or Resign.’

The massive corruption in the Trump administration is growing, as are calls for Reince Priebus to resign after news broke Thursday night revealing the White House Chief of Staff contacted the FBI and asked them to publicly dispute reports that Trump campaign officials had regular contact with Russian intelligence and government officials.

“He has to go,” former Dept. of Justice spokesperson Matthew Miller said of Reince Priebus, if he did what CNN, NBC News, and the AP are reporting is accurate. “For Priebus to go ten steps further” than Karl Rove did during the Bush administration, in a scandal that led to the attorney general resigning, “and call the FBI himself, he absolutely has to go told,” Miller told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Thursday night (video below). 

“And he has to come out tomorrow. He has to answer questions from the press, he has to talk to congress, he has to explain what exactly he talked about, what exactly he told them,” Miller insisted. He added that Priebus admitted last Sunday that he was briefed by the FBI, which is entirely inappropriate.

“If that’s true it’s also a question for the FBI: Why were they briefing the White House on a investigation into the president’s campaign? That in itself would also be inappropriate.”
