WATCH: Kellyanne Conway Claims She Is ‘Concerned’ Meryl Streep’s Speech Is ‘Inciting People’s Worst Instincts’
Streep’s Speech Denounced Disrespect and Violence
Incoming White House advisor to the president Kellyanne Conway defended Donald Trump Monday morning, saying she is “concerned” that Meryl Streep‘s speech is inciting people’s “worst instincts.”
Sunday night Streep delivered a masterful attack on President-elect Donald Trump, lambasting him for mocking a disabled reporter, urging Americans to support a group that protects journalists, while denouncing disrespect and violence.
It’s unclear how that could bring out people’s “worst instincts.”
“I’m concerned that somebody with a platform like Meryl Streep is also, I think, inciting people’s worst instincts,†Conway told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” Â
“When she won’t get up there and say, ‘I didn’t like it, but let’s try to support him and see where we can find some common ground with him.’ Which he has actually done from moment one. The moment he won, he said I’m going to be president for [all people],†Conway insisted.

Trump did make that promise, but has literally broken it nearly if not every every day since.Â
The president-elect has repeatedly attacked his former opponent Hillary Clinton, her campaign, the DNC, journalists, and many others, just as he did throughout the campaign.
Trump as recently as Saturday attacked more than half the country, including many in his own party, who are concerned about his friendship with Vladimir Putin and his desire to ignore and erase decades of Russian abuses. He called those who oppose him on that front “stupid” and “fools.”
UPDATE:
I honestly cannot handle the cosmic chutzpah of Conway. https://t.co/TWnSyDYN1g
