Trump Dismisses Russian Dossier, Denounces Hacking, Praises Information Released by Wikileaks

‘Look at the Things That Were Hacked. Look at What Was Learned From That Hacking.’

Donald Trump says the leaked Russian dossier that says Russia says it has compromising information on him, is “fake news,” says it should have never been leaked, denounced hacking, then praised Wikileaks for the information learned from those leaks.

The president-elect made his remarks during his first press conference in nearly 170 days, after opening by repeating a litany of promised and false accomplishments he has discussed many times over the past few weeks. Trump did not speak from notes or with a teleprompter.

“I think it’s a disgrace that information would be let out,” Trump said of the leaked Russian dossier. “It didn’t happen,” he added, claiming “it was gotten by opponents of ours” who he described as “sick people.”

Trump went on to say, “hacking’s bad. And it shouldn’t be done. But look at the things that were hacked. Look at what was learned from that hacking,” he said, discussing some of the accusations revealed via Wikileaks.

“As far as hacking, I think it was Russia but I think we also get hacked by other countries and other people.”
