Trump: Focus on Russian Hacking Is a ‘Political Witch Hunt’ by His ‘Embarrassed’ Adversaries

Not Once Did Trump Say He Would Work to End the Hacking by Russia or Any Foreign Government

Rather than being concerned that a preponderance of evidence and the unanimous consensus of all of America’s 17 intelligence agencies concludes that the “highest levels” of the Russian government were involved in the hacking of the DNC and Russia’s intervening into the election in an effort to have Hillary Clinton defeated, Donald Trump says the focus on the hacking is a “political witch hunt.”

In an interview Friday morning with The New York Times, the president-elect showed no concern for the safety of America’s computer networks or the safety of its citizens, and did not, nor has he ever, stated he would work to end the hacking by foreign governments. Rather, he repeatedly made comments displaying his real concern: himself.

“President-elect Donald J. Trump said in an interview Friday morning that the storm surrounding Russian hacking during the presidential campaign is a political witch hunt being carried out by his adversaries, who he said were embarrassed by their loss to him in the election last year,” the Times reports. “Asked why he thought there was so much attention being given to the Russian cyber attacks, the president-elect said the motivation is political.”

“They got beaten very badly in the election,” Trump said of his political adversaries. “I won more counties in the election than Ronald Reagan,” Trump told the Times by telephone. “They are very embarrassed about it. To some extent, it’s a witch hunt. They just focus on this.”

The President-elect went on to complain that “China, relatively recently, hacked 20 million government names,” in 2014 and 2015. “How come nobody even talks about that? This is a political witch hunt.”

Trump went on to complain that the DNC dod not allow the FBI access to their servers, which was recently reported, and that, according to leaked documents via Wikileaks, Hillary Clinton received debate questions in advance, and “many many other things that were horrible. How come nobody complains about that?” Trump asked.

The president-elect is scheduled to be briefed on the classified intelligence report that is said to prove beyond a doubt that Russia was behind the hacking at 12:30 PM EST Friday.
