Trump Proves He Is Like Your Crazy Fox News Watching Uncle No One Can Talk Any Sense Into
President Donald Trump holds a wide variety beliefs, many of them untouched by facts. As America approaches the end of our first week of occupation by a madman who took the nation hostage 19 months ago with his tweeting and insane and hate-filled rhetoric, now backed up by possibly unconstitutional and impossibly inhumane executive orders (remember when Republicans opposed executive orders?) with more on the way, our new Commander-in-Chief delivered proof of his inability to consider, to grasp, or to be swayed by the most basic of logic or facts.
We’re now learning that once Trump has an opinion, he will not allow it to be changed, even when confronted with proof his opinion is incorrect.
That’s absolutely dangerous.
On Wednesday President Trump gave his first interview as president to ABC News’ David Muir, and offered proof of just how incapable of listening to reason or accepting new information he is.
Trump, as the transcript via ABC News below shows, insists:
- People who are registered to vote in two states vote in both states.
- “There are millions of votes” that are illegal.
- The Pew report supports his contention that the “millions” of people who are registered in more than one state vote in all those states even though it absolutely does not.
- When Muir challenged Trump by saying he called and talked with the author of the study, who says his study does not say what Trump says it says, Trump insists the author is now “groveling” and asks, “Why did he write the report?”
- Trump thinks the author of the report, a researcher, is a reporter, and says, “You know, I always talk about the reporters that grovel when they wanna write something that you wanna hear but not necessarily millions of people wanna hear or have to hear.”
- “Now, you’re telling me Pew report has all of a sudden changed.”
- People were calling in to a TV network to say, “We agree with Mr. Trump. We agree,” and so “They’re very smart people.”
- “I didn’t say there are millions” of illegal votes. (Twice, at the very least, he said there are millions of “illegal” votes, and his press secretary backed him up on it.)
- But of all the millions of illegal votes that were cast, Trump says they all were votes for Hillary Clinton, “they didn’t come to me. Believe me. Those were Hillary votes. And if you look at it they all voted for Hillary. They all voted for Hillary. They didn’t vote for me. I don’t believe I got one. Okay, these are people that voted for Hillary Clinton. And if they didn’t vote, it would’ve been different in the popular.”
