Trump Calls for Republicans and Democrats to Come Together, 9 Minutes After Calling Democratic Leader ‘Head Clown’

What Happened to President-Elect’s Promises to Unify America?

Despite promising to be a unifying president, Donald Trump has done everything but.

“Now it’s time for America to bind the wounds of division. We have to get together. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it’s time for us to come together as one united people,” President-elect Trump said in the wee hours of November 9, as he delivered his election victory speech.

“I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country,” Trump added.

It was all a lie.

Thursday morning – clearly in an attempt to set the agenda for the day and distract Americans who had expected him to keep his word, having said he would tell them “Tuesday or Wednesday“ the special, secret information on Russian hacking (or not Russian, maybe that 400 pound man he suggested might have hacked America) that no one else but he knew – Donald Trump posted a series of tweets on Obamacare.

In them he called for Republicans and Democrats to come together. Nine minutes after calling new Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, “head clown.”

Nothing says “unity” like denigrating your opponent’s leader, amirite?
