Twitter Explodes After Trump Says Only “Fools” Don’t Want Good Ties With Russia
“Let’s keep this in mind next time Putin has one of his political opponents murdered or invades a neighboring country”
One day after receiving an intelligence report which concluded that Russia intervened in the election to help him win, President-elect Donald Trump took to Twitter to advocate a “good relationship” with our nation’s most powerful foreign adversary.Â
“Having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. Only ‘stupid’ people, or fools, would think that it is bad! We …Â have enough problems around the world without yet another one. When I am President, Russia will respect us far more than they do now and …Â both countries will, perhaps, work together to solve some of the many great and pressing problems and issues of the WORLD!” Trump wrote.Â
Here’s how Twitter reacted: Â
Hey pals, quick reminder that LGBT activists in Putin’s Russia get fucking beat to death in the streets https://t.co/2Uq0ZDNhvi

And while I thought GW Bush was an idiot, I never questioned his loyalty to this country. I do question Trump’s. https://t.co/Pelx7i2dDO

Not a matter of a “good relationship”, but who is the relationship good for? Good for Trump and kleptocrats? Yes. Good for US citizens? No. pic.twitter.com/zfoZzRHgVS

Trump has made it clear pleasing Putin is more important to him than the safety and rights of US citizens, including those who voted for him

Despite all current documented evidence that Russia is an immediate threat to our national security, Trump bows to Putin. FOLLOW THE MONEY. https://t.co/luVagPV6KE
