Justice Dept. Opens Review of FBI and DOJ Actions Regarding Hillary Clinton’s Emails, Including FBI Director’s October Letter

FBI Director’s Decision to Send Letter to Congress Before Election Will Be Part of Review

The Inspector General of the Dept. of Justice is opening a review of how the FBI and DOJ handled issues surrounding Hillary Clinton’s emails, including the actions of FBI Director James Comey’s release of a letter to Congress eleven days before the November election.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz in a just-released statement says the review comes in the wake of requests from “Chairmen and Ranking Members of Congressional oversight committees, various organizations, and members of the public.”

Should he choose to end the investigation upon taking office, Donald Trump would not legally be able to end it.
