Conway Calls For Firing Of Journalists “Who Talked Smack All Day Long About Donald Trump”

“We Have All The Headlines. We Know All Their Names,” White House Counselor Says

Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway called for the firing of journalists who she claims showed bias against President Donald Trump during his campaign.

Host Chris Wallace asked Conway about Trump adviser Steve Bannon’s statements in an interview with The New York Times this week, in which he said, “The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile.”

Wallace said Bannon’s comments were “offensive,” adding that the First Amendment protects press freedoms.

“If you read people’s Twitter feeds, that crap would never pass editorial muster in a newspaper or on a TV show,” Conway responded. “The idea that tweets are my own. Really, at 10:45 a.m. when you’re walking out of the place where you work? Your tweets are not your own.”

Wallace again said it was offensive to have people who’ve been in the White House for a week lecture reporters on how to do their jobs.

“Why don’t you talk less and go listen to America more?” Conway responded, adding that the media “failed to learn America” and complaining that “everything is cherry-picked.”

“Biased media coverage is easy to detect,” she said. “It frankly helps us, because this was such an elite rejection election for the establishment and the elites were all rejected by the voters. It turns out there are a heck a lot more of them than there are of us, Chris, and that’s how we won.”

Conway went on to complain that last week, she went on three Sunday news shows to discuss Trump’s policy proposals, but the only thing that got reported was her now-infamous statement about “alternative facts,” and “not the fact that I ripped a new one to some of those hosts for not covering the facts that matter.”

“Who’s cleaning house?” Conway said. “Which one is going to be the first one to get rid of these people that said things that just aren’t true?

“We have all the headlines,” she added. “People should feel embarrassed. Not one network person has been let go. Not one silly political analyst and pundit who talked smack all day long about Donald Trump has been let go. They’re on panels every Sunday. They’re on cable news every day. Who’s the first editorial writer, where’s the first blogger that will be let go that embarrassed his or her outlets? We know all their names. I’m too polite to call them out by name, but they know who they are, and they’re all wondering, ‘Will I be the first to go?’ The election was three months ago. None of them has been let go.”

Conway concluded the interview by saying she sometimes talks “like a Jersey girl.”

Watch it above.
