Conspiracy Theorist Alex Jones Says He Has ‘Already Been Offered’ White House Press Credentials (Video)

Will Fake News Purveyor Be Sitting in White House Press Room?

Just before Donald Trump was sworn in to office Sean Spicer suggested he would be shaking up the traditional role of the White House press secretary. The Trump administration even floated moving the press corps out of the White House entirely. When outrage ensued, they claimed it was because so many news outlets were demanding press credentials.

What many don’t understand is there is a White House Correspondents’ Association, that represents and helps credential reporters who are allowed into the press briefing room. Also, not every news organization provides around the clock reporters to cover the White House, which is a very expensive proposition. The journalists regulalrly in the room should be some of the nation’s best.

And journalists who are allowed in to the White House press briefing room should be journalists, right?

Well, according to Alex Jones, a conspiracy theorist and purveyor of fake news, he has been offered press credentials by the White House. While this might sound like something to brush off as false, remember that presidential candidate Donald Trump sat down with Jones for an interview, and even praised his reputation as “amazing.”

As The New York Times, Politico, The Huffington Post and others reported, Jones says President-elect Trump called to thank him and his followers after the election for their help in winning.

“Here’s the deal,” Jones said Wednesday, in the above video, as reported by Media Matters. “I know I get White House credentials, we’ve already been offered them, we’re going to get them,” he claims.

Then Jones launches into a lamentation about having to pay for a reporter.

“I’ve just got to spend the money to send somebody there. I want to make sure it’s even worth it. I don’t want to just sit there up there like ‘I’m in the media, look our people are there.’ People don’t understand this paradigm, we’re devolving in a good way, power from the federal government back to the people, back from the centralized MSM [mainstream media] to the people, just like Trump said in his speech.”

And that turns into a fundraising pitch.

“But there is investigative journalism, or people to interview in DC. Might be good to put a few reporters there, it’s just all a money issue. That’s why it’s important for people who are watching us to know, you are our sponsors. You’re the reason we’re able to do this. You’re the reason we’re able to have the crew and do what we do and change the world.”

If this sounds extreme, remember, Steve Bannon former Brietbart publisher, is now Trump’s Senior White House advisor, and the Trump administration has just hired two more Breitbart staffers.
