40 Times More People Came for ObamaÂ
Thursday afternoon Donald Trump held a concert to kick off his inauguration and a weekend of celebration at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The president-elect tried to spin it, suggesting that maybe no one had ever held a concert there, pretending there were “tens of thousands of people” there, filling the space, “all the way to the back.”
Trump told attendees, “This started out tonight being a small little concert, and then we had the idea maybe we’ll do it in front of the Lincoln Memorial. I don’t know if it’s ever been done before,†he said, according to Buzzfeed. “But if it has, very seldom. And the people came by the thousands and thousands, and here we are tonight, all the way back. All the way back.â€

Later, at a donors’ dinner, Trump tried to spin a bit harder.
“We thought it would be a small concert and tens of thousands of people were there,†the president-elect said. “It went all the way to the back. They never had so many people. And very few people ever had a concert at the Lincoln Memorial.â€
None of his remarks were true.
According to an MSNBC crowd estimate, 10,000 people showed.
Meanwhile, eight years ago, Barack Obama held a pre-inauguration concert at the National Mall.Â

“Rap fans danced to country music, elderly white men high-fived with young African Americans and tears mixed with laughter as a varied lineup of A-list stars and an equally diverse crowd jammed the grounds of the Lincoln Memorial to celebrate the nation and its historic president-elect yesterday,” The Washington Post reported Jan. 19, 2009.
“By some estimates, more than 400,000 people filled the western end of the Mall for the official start of a three-day jubilee of prayers, parades and parties. They endured long security lines and chilly weather for a two-hour salute to the man who will be America’s first black president and to the nation that elected Barack Obama to the White House despite centuries of racial divisiveness.”

Friday doesn’t appear to be much different. D.C. should be packed. Trump and his team have been falsely claiming dress shops and hotels are sold out but according to many, including one New York Times reporter, the city is conspicuously empty:

GOP Powerbroker Urges Christians to Invoke ‘Imprecatory Prayers’ for God to ‘Destroy’ His Political Enemies
Right-wing conspiracy theorist Steven Hotze appeared on Rick Scarborough’s “Mixing Church & State God’s Way” podcast Tuesday, where he encouraged listeners to pray for the upcoming election by asking God to literally “destroy” those who oppose Hotze’s radical right-wing Christian political agenda.
Hotze, a long time virulently anti-LGBTQ activist in Texas, urged conservative Christians to engage in “imprecatory prayer,” which is the practice of praying that God will unleash punishment upon those against whom the prayer is targeted.
Hotze said that when Christians gathered on the National Mall in September for “The Return,” they prayed that God would “intercede to stop and bind in the name of Jesus and through the power and blood of Christ to bind anarchy and communism and the ungodliness that’s going on in our country, and to give us a victory in the upcoming election.”
But Hotze noted that it’s equally important to pray against their political enemies.
“I highly encourage you go to the Psalms and pray imprecatory prayers,” he said. “[God] troubles the wicked, he causes them to be in confusion, he causes them to flee. And we need to pray that those that are wicked and that want to destroy our nation and our Christian values, that God would work in their lives—first to cause them to turn to Christ—but those that refuse to turn to Christ, I want God to take his enemies and rid us of them and destroy them so they don’t destroy you and me and our wives, our spouses, our families, our children, our grandchildren, our friends, and our businesses.”

READ: Graphic Handwritten Letter From Maryland Man Who Threatened to Kidnap and ‘Execute’ Joe Biden and Kamala Harris
James Dale Reed is under arrest after leaving a handwritten and graphic note at a Fredrick, Maryland home that threatens to kidnap and kill Democratic presidential and vice presidential nominees Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The house has Biden/Harris signs on its lawn.
The suspect’s image was caught by a video doorbell camera.
“This is a warning to anyone reading this letter if you are a Biden/Harris supporter you will be targeted,” the letter states, according to WUSA9 News.
The threats in the letter (image below) are graphic.
“When We capture Grandpa Biden We will all severely beat him to the point of death as for Mrs. Harris she will be bent over and Anally raped by my rifle barrel,” it reads.
It also threatens Biden and Harris “both will be executed on National Television [sic].”
“We have a list of homes and addresses by your election signs,” the letter claims.
“We are the ones with the scary guns, we are the ones your children have nightmares about.”
“We will not let Biden/Harris turn are [sic] country into a Communist wasteland,” it also says.
“If Biden/Harris Want A War [sic] then they will get one, of course that means Black lives matter and Antifa.”
Brad Bell, Maryland Bureau Chief for ABC 7 News, posted a photo of Reed and an image of the letter:

‘Pathetic’: Trump Called a ‘Monster’ for Declaring There’s ‘Not Much’ He Could Have Done Differently on COVID
President Donald Trump is now saying there’s “not much” he could have done differently in responding to the COVID-19 crisis, despite having more than 225,000 deaths and over 8.5 million cases on his record.
By almost every metric President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic is the worst of any large nation. The United States has by far the most COVID-19 cases. In second place is India, with a population four times that of the U.S.
America has had the most coronavirus deaths. On a per-capita basis for number of deaths the U.S. comes in at number 12 out of 217 countries and other politically-recognized areas. That means there are 205 nations that have done a better job than the U.S. under President Donald Trump.
“With COVID,” Sinclair Broadcasting’s Eric Bolling asked Trump in a Rose Garden interview that will air this week, “is there anything that you think you could have done differently, if you had a mulligan or a do-over on one aspect of the way you handled it, what would it be?”
In other words, he thinks he did a great job.

“Look, it’s all over the world, you have a lot of great leaders, a lot of smart people, it’s all over the world. I came out of China, they should have stopped it.”
The President is being excoriated for his laissez faire attitude toward the deadly disease.
The most important takeaway here is not that Trump won’t admit mistakes. It’s that he is promising to repeat them. https://t.co/yKhcKT6OSl

“learning”, “thinking”, “changing” these are things he does not doing the slightest. But his supporters still trust him more than acclaimed scientists with decades of experience ?????

@realDonaldTrump just spitballing here, maybe:
1) Listen to your PDB in January
2) Not turn masks into a political issue
3) Show leadership instead of play politics
4) Care about people more and stock market less
5) Listen to scientists instead of crackpots
I can go on….

I can think of about 221,000 moments when the leader of this country should have thought, “This approach is not working. I need to do better”. Our fearless leader still thinks he has done it all right. Vote like your life depends on it, because for 221,000 Americans it did. https://t.co/WWpP6kst0N
