House GOP Lawmakers Argue to Take Power Away From Democratic Governor-Elect
Right now Republicans in the North Carolina House are debating a total of 28 bills, most of which are designed to strip as much power as possible from the incoming Democratic governor, Attorney General Roy Cooper. Republican governor Pat McCrory narrowly lost the election and conceded after contesting the results for a month.
