WATCH: Colbert on #PizzaGate Conspiracy Theorists, Alex Jones, Wikileaks, Reddit Trolls: ‘Grow the F*ck Up’

‘Wouldn’t You Agree We Need More Adults?’

Stephen Colbert has had it with the PizzaGate conspiracy theorists, fake news and its purveyors like Alex Jones, Wikileaks, and those who are trolling Reddit, and wants them to “grow the f*ck up.” The “Late Show” host was even forced to defend himself – or, perhaps, delighted in defending himself – Wednesday night after being implicated by “some folks on Reddit” in the PizzaGate nonsense.

For those who have yet to get caught up, PizzaGate is an insane conspiracy theory, started by Donald Trump supporters, that claims Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman, John Podesta, are running a child sex slave trafficking ring out of the basement of a Washington, D.C. Pizzeria, Comet Ping Pong.

As Colbert noted, the police won’t investigate because the pizzeria doesn’t have a basement.

He also delivered an epic take-down of Donald Trump’s national security Advisor, General Michael Flynn, who has actually been spreading a related story that sounds very similar to PizzaGate. (His son has been pushing the actual PizzaGate conspiracy.)

“A guy who spreads this b*llsh*t shouldn’t be in charge of national security,” Colbert announced, to huge cheers and applause.

The “Late Show” host also attacked fake news sites, noted the Pope’s recent comments about those who spread fake news, point-blank told conspiracy theorists how talk shows work (yes, the talk shows talk to the guests before taping and both parties toss out things they’d like to cover – shocking!) and come to an agreement about topics.

“Here’s what these conspiracy theorists don’t get: there’s a difference between a conspiracy and an agreement,” Colbert said, as Raw Story reported. Colbert even teased the audience by holding up what he said was the transcript of the discussion between his team and Donald Trump’s saying he could read it, but won’t, because it’s private. He then ran it through a paper shredder.

“A conspiracy is what villains do,” Colbert explained. “An agreement is what adults do.”

“Look around the country,” Colbert concluded, “wouldn’t you agree we need more adults?”

“So Wikileaks, Alex Jones, and these subreddit sub-geniuses,” he continued, “I mean this in the nicest way possible: Grow the f*ck up.”
