Carl Paladino Also Says He Hopes President Obama Dies Of Mad Cow Disease
Carl Paladino, a Buffalo school board member who served as the co-chair of President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign in New York state, recently said he hopes that President Barack Obama dies of mad cow disease and that first lady Michelle Obama “returns to being male” and goes to live with a gorilla in an African cave.Â
Paladino made the comments to the alternative weekly newspaper Artvoice, which surveyed 42 local figures about their wish lists for 2017, The Buffalo News reports.
Paladino confirmed to The Buffalo News on Friday that he made the comments, adding that the newspaper’s editors could “go fuck themselves.”Â
“Tell that Rod Watson I made that comment just for him,” Paladino said, referring to one of The Buffalo News‘ black editors.
Paladino, a former gubernatorial candidate, was picked to serve as Trump’s New York co-chair despite a long history of racist and sexist remarks. Earlier this year, hours after appearing with Trump, Paladino compared President Obama to a “raccoon in the basement.”
