Trump Announces Sean Spicer to Be Press Secretary and Names Senior Communications Team

Could Change Traditional Role of Press Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has just announce former RNC communications director Sean Spicer, who now serves the Trump transition team, will become White House press secretary. He has also named three other current team members to his senior communications team.

Hope Hicks will become Director of Strategic Communications, Jason Miller will become Director of Communications, and Dan Scavino will become Director of Social Media.

All four will also hold the title of Assistant to the President.

“Sean, Hope, Jason and Dan have been key members of my team during the campaign and transition,” President-elect Trump said in a statement. “I am excited they will be leading the team that will communicate my agenda that will Make America Great Again.”

It’s unclear if Spicer will hold daily press briefings.
