Trump Aide Resigns As Sex Scandal Rocks Transition Team: Is Anyone Surprised?

President-elect’s Pick For Communications Director Steps Down Amid Rumors About Affair

Jason Miller, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for White House communications director, abruptly resigned on Christmas Eve amid rumors that he had an adulterous affair with another top adviser to the president-elect.

After Miller was named communications director on Thursday, Trump adviser A.J. Delgado unleashed a series of tweets hinting at the sex scandal within the transition team:

Delgado later deactivated her Twitter account. In a statement announcing his resignation, Miller cited a need to spend more time with his family. He’s reportedly married with one child and another on the way:

Before joining Trump’s team, Miller was a top spokesman for Bible-thumping GOP Senator Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign. As for Delgado, she defended Trump during the campaign after a videotape revealed his lewd remarks condoning sexual assault: “Trump’s talk has zero impact on how his policies would affect Americans. But sure, let’s waste a day in the Ivory Tower feigning outrage,” Delgado tweeted at the time, according to The Washington Post.

Delgado and Miller were also among the Trump campaign staffers spotted at a Las Vegas strip club the night before the final presidential debate.

Politico reports that the alleged affair between Miller and Delgado “has caused turmoil within the Trump operation over the past week.”

“After POLITICO reporters received an anonymous email about the alleged affair, Delgado disclosed details of the relationship to senior officials in emails Thursday, the people close to the transition said. The nature of their relationship had been known to people involved in the Trump campaign and transition for ‘a number of months.'”
