Americans’ Most Admired Man and Woman? Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Donald Trump and Michelle Obama Take Second Place

Once again, Americans have chosen President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton as the two people they most admire in the world, according to the annual Gallup survey. It is Obama’s ninth time in a row to win the adulation, and Clinton’s 15th. Overall, Clinton has won the respect of Americans 21 times, more than any other woman.

Donald Trump came in second, tripling his previous score to garner 15 percent of Americans’ votes.

Michelle Obama also came in second, with eight percent.

Sitting presidents usually take the top spot, but then-president-elect Barack Obama wrested it from outgoing President George W. Bush in 2008. Trump was not so lucky.

Runners up on the men’s side include Pope Francis, Bernie Sanders, Rev. Billy Graham, Benjamin Netanyahu, The Dalai Lama, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, and Mike Pence.

Rounding out the top ten women are Angela Merkel, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Queen Elizabeth, Malala Yousafzai, Condoleezza Rice, Elizabeth Warren, and Sarah Palin.
