Donald Trump has said he doesn’t need to receive the President’s Daily Briefing, daily national security briefings our country’s intelligence professionals prepare for the president because he’s a “smart person.” Before becoming president-elect, many Americans worried about Trump being given access to the country’s top intelligence secrets, fearing he might reveal classified information on the campaign trail.

But Americans’ fear of Trump having access to information changed into a fear of him having too little information when he became president-elect. A “very smart person” would know they need up-to-the-minute information to make the best decisions for the nation’s security.

And now, in a world where Donald Trump is about to become Commander-in-Chief, it’s actually news that the president-elect has received the national intelligence briefing two days in a row, as these reporters’ tweets reveal:
