Electoral College Members Voting Now – No Defections Yet

4.8 Million Signed Petition Asking Electors to Deny Trump Vote

At noon in each time zone members of the Electoral College, all 538 in total, will cast their ballots for president and vice president at state houses across the nation.

An active grassroots campaign to convince 37 Republican electors to switch their votes from Donald Trump to anyone else, thereby depriving the president-elect of the 270 votes he needs to be declared winner, and forcing the House of Representatives to choose the next president.

While a handful of electors have publicly stated they will not vote for Donald Trump, it’s far from the 37 needed to make history.

Politico’s Kyle Cheney has been keeping track, and predicts Donald Trump will get 305 votes, which would technically mean just one defection.

So far, as of this writing, none of the electors have defected from Trump.
