Conway: Trump’s Tweets Are Automatically “Presidential” Because He’s President-Elect

Pence, Priebus Refuse To Back Down From President-Elect’s Voter Fraud Lie

Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager who’s now one of his top aides, claimed Sunday that his tweets are automatically presidential since he’s the president-elect.

Conway made the ridiculous statement on CNN’s State of the Union in response to a question from host Jake Tapper about Trump’s provably false assertion on Twitter that Hillary Clinton only won the popular vote because millions of people voted illegally.

“I think the question arises, in a roomful of people who want President-elect Trump to succeed … is that really presidential behavior?” Tapper said.

“Well, he’s the president-elect, so that’s presidential behavior, yes,” Conway responded.

Tapper then asked whether that means everything Bill Clinton did in the Oval Office was presidential, prompting Conway to walk back her statement.

“I’m saying just because a president does something doesn’t make it presidential,” Tapper said.

“Yes, I wasn’t saying otherwise,” Conway said.

Conway also said during the CNN appearance she’s unsure whether Trump will continue to tweet once he assumes office.

“That’s going to be up to him, the Secret Service and others who have to help decide those issues,” she said.

Meanwhile, both Vice President-elect Mike Pence and Trump’s chief of staff, Reince Priebus, refused to back down from Trump’s voter fraud lie on Sunday.

On ABC’s This Week, host George Stephanopoulos repeatedly pressed Pence about the president-elect’s “false statements.”

“I don’t know that is a false statement and neither do you,” Pence said.

And on CBS’ Face the Nation, Priebus claimed “it’s possible” that millions of people voted illegally.
