Breaking: Trump to Add Yet Another General to a Top Post – Secretary of Homeland Security

‘I Know More About ISIS Than the Generals Do. Believe Me.’ – Donald Trump, 2015

Donald Trump is expected to nominate Gen. John Kelly to become his Secretary of Homeland Security, CBS News reports. Gen. Kelly, the longest-serving Marine general in U.S. history, was also on the president-elect’s list of possible Secretary of State candidates. He will become the third general added to a top post in the Trump administration, despite the billionaire’s repeated suggestions during the campaign that America’s generals are incompetent and ignorant.

“I know more about ISIS than the generals do. Believe me,” Trump said in 2015.

“They don’t know much because they’re not winning,” Trump said just a few months ago, in June.

And in September, Trump said America’s generals are “embarrassing to our country,” but he blamed the leadership of President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for that.

Gen. Kelly’s views are not widely known. He has said he would serve under a Democratic or Republican President. He has also said women on the front line would cause standards to drop.

Trump has already picked retired United States Army lieutenant general Michael T. Flynn to become his national security advisor. Last month CNN reported “On Twitter, Michael Flynn interacted with alt-right, made controversial comments on Muslims, shared fake news.”

Flynn’s son has come under fire for being a purveyor of fake news, including a particularly offensive story about Hillary Clinton. Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, was fired from the Trump transition team for that offense, but only after public outcry and the appearance of a gunman at a pizzeria who shot up the restaurant because he believed the fake story.

Just days before the election, General Flynn tweeted this disgusting fake news story:

Flynn also posted this offensive tweet, which many say disqualifies him from being the National Security Advisor to the President:

There are many more that are also disqualifying.

Trump has also picked retired four-star general James Mattis to be his Secretary of Defense.

Trump is considering disgraced general and former CIA head David Petraeus to join his cabinet.

There are more beiing considered for various top administration spots.

Some are rightly concerned about stacking the administration with so many generals.
