Breaking: FBI Director Now Agrees With CIA Assessment Russian Government Worked to Help Trump Win

‘Strong Consensus Among Us on the Scope, Nature, and Intent of Russian Interference’ – CIA Director Brennan

FBI Director James Comey, after his agency’s denials of an assessment by the CIA, is now formally endorsing the view that the Russian government actively interfered with the U.S. election in an effort to help Donald Trump win the presidency. Also joining Comey is the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), James Clapper.

“Earlier this week, I met separately with (Director) FBI James Comey and DNI Jim Clapper, and there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election,” CIA Director John O. Brennan said, The Washington Post reports, citing U.S. officials who have seen the message. The Post was the first to break the news that the CIA had shared with House and Senate lawmakers and with the President that not only did Russia hack the election, but did so with the intent of helping to install Trump in the White House.

“The three of us also agree that our organizations, along with others, need to focus on completing the thorough review of this issue that has been directed by President Obama and which is being led by the DNI,” Brennan’s message read, the Post reports.

Not only do the three agencies now believe the Russian government’s goal was to help Trump win, the goal was also to undermine Americans’ trust in the electoral process.
