Boeing: What Cost Overruns? We’re Just at the Planning Stages for New Air Force Ones
Trump Tweet Tanks Stock, Boeing Responds
Monday morning Donald Trump tanked Boeing’s stock when he tweeted a demand to cancel a contract with the aircraft maker for two new Air Force One 747s. The president-elect claimed Boeing was over budget by about a billion dollars in the construction of the jets.
In reality, the aircraft are not even in the construction stage, according to Boeing. They are slated to be delivered in 2020.
Boeing issued a very diplomatic statement saying they are under contract only for the planning of the aircraft, so no planes are being built – effectively debunking Trump’s tweet.

Boeing stock has gained a bit of ground since earlier this morning, but it’s still down.
