Alec Baldwin Says He’ll Stop Mocking Trump When He Releases Tax Returns

President-Elect Again Attacks SNL On Twitter

For the third time in six weeks, Donald Trump blasted Saturday Night Live on Twitter early Sunday (above), calling it “unwatchable” and saying actor Alec Baldwin’s portrayal of him “just can’t get any worse.”

Trump was responding to SNL‘s “Cold Open,” which mocked Trump’s Twitter habits by featuring Baldwin as the president-elect focused on retweeting random people instead of paying attention to one of the intelligence briefings that he’s actually been skipping entirely.

Kate Mckinnon, playing Trump aide Kellyanne Conway, explained during the sketch that the reason the president-elect tweets so much is to “distract the media from his business conflicts and all the very scary people in his cabinet.”

“Actually, that’s not why I do it,” Baldwin as Trump replies. “I do it because my brain is bad.”

Later in the sketch, Baldwin as Trump pledges to “build that swamp” — a combination of campaign slogans “drain the swamp” and “build the wall” that more closely mirrors what he’s actually done since winning the election.

When advisers warn the president-elect about situations in Pakistan, North Korea and Iran, Baldwin as Trump asks whether he should call or text them, or send them some of daughter Ivanka’s shoes. On Friday, Trump had an unprecedented phone call with Taiwan’s leader that threatens to cause a major rift between the US and China. The sketch also featured the Grim Reaper as Trump chief strategist Steve Bannon.

In response to Trump’s tweet, Baldwin took to Twitter himself (above) and said he’d stop impersonating the president-elect when he releases his tax returns — which probably means never.

Maybe if they slip the Intel briefings into a skit… https://t.co/4Ol2H6e2xG
