WATCH: GOP Candidate for Attorney General Calls Hillary Clinton ‘Inmate Clinton’ at Trump Rally

Republican Urged HB2 Supporters to ‘Keep Our State Straight!

Speaking in support of Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy Monday afternoon North Carolina State Senator Buck Newton referred to Hillary Clinton as “inmate Clinton.”

“We’re not going to be calling her ‘President Clinton,'” Newton, who is the Republican candidate for North Carolina Attorney General, told Trump supporters, “we’re going to be calling her by her other name: ‘inmate Clinton.'”

As the man attempting to become the state’s top law enforcement officer it’s inappropriate to declare someone guilty of any crime when they have not only never been convicted, but never even charged.

Earlier this year Newton urged Republicans in North Carolina to support Gov. Pat McCrory’s anti-LGBT law HB2 to “keep our state straight!

“Go home, tell your friends and family who had to work today what this is all about and how hard we must fight to keep our state straight,” Newton said in April.

Sen. Newton, 48, began his political career as an aide to Republican ultra-conservative and racist U.S. Senator Jesse Helms.
