WATCH: Elizabeth Warren Blasts Trump for Bringing ‘White Supremacist’ Bannon Into the White House

‘Bigotry Is Bad for Business’

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren blasted Donald Trump Tuesday morning for his appointment of Breitbart publisher Steve Bannon as his new top senior White House aide. Bannon is a supporter of the alt-right movement, is a white nationalist who has been said to champion white supremacists.

“People didn’t vote for Trump so that he could bring a white supremacist into the White House,” Sen. Warren told a group of business leaders at The Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council event in Washington, D.C.

“This is a man who told his wife that he didn’t want his children going to school with Jews,” Warren said of Bannon, echoing numerous reports, which Bannon has denied.

“This is a man who ran a news organization that ran headlines like, ‘Would You Rather Your Children Had Feminism or Cancer?'”

“This is a man,” Warren said of Bannon, “who says, by his very presence, that this is a White House that will embrace bigotry.”

“I just want to underline something that every one of you know: bigotry is bad for business,” Warren continued. “Bigotry is not what your employees expect. Bigotry is not what your customers expect,” she said. “And if that’s the direction that this administration goes, that creates a real problem for everyone.”
