Twitter Explodes in Amusement and Anger as Sarah Palin Becomes Candidate to Run Trump’s VA
‘She’ll Quit Halfway Through, So No Worries’
Sarah Palin is now a candidate to run the Veterans Administration. Donald Trump and his transition team, headed by Mike Pence, reportedly have reached out to the reality TV show star, former Alaska governor and former GOP vice presidential nominee, about becoming Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Palin, in addition to being the former and half-term governor of Alaska, is also the former chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, former Mayor of Wasilla, a former “Miss Congeniality,†former sportscaster, former head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, former star of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,†former Fox News contributor, and former co-host of the Sportsman’s channel’s “Amazing America.”Â
Donald Trump has been handing out cabinet and other administration appointments as rewards for loyalty. Palin is exceptionally unqualified to run a $78 billion federal agency that is responsible for the lives and well-being of America’s 21.8 million veterans.
Former Obama advisor Dan Pfeiffer had this to say:
Sarah Palin as VA Secretary seems completely insane until you remember that Donald Trump was just elected President.

Notably, others on Twitter had strong thoughts on the subject:
Remember w/ Palin VA Sec’y talk —In Jan. vets slammed Palin for linking her son’s domestic-violence arrest to PTSD https://t.co/TKWFzOqF1U

She’ll quit halfway through, so no worries. https://t.co/XzDKDGIbfB

Sarah Palin is interested in VA spot………………… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Nothing would say “supporting veterans” like appointing a lazy dilettante to oversee their health care. https://t.co/eZxi8yeohB
— Josh Barro (@jbarro) November 30, 2016
Noting: Like Jeff Miller, Sarah Palin would be the first VA secretary ever who is not a veteran. That’s an issue for some vets groups. https://t.co/bNW1nNuiOA

I cannot even fathom the thought process that leads one to float Sarah Palin for the VA. Did they throw a dart at the wall?

If Sarah Palin doesn’t get the VA job, maybe she’ll be the Ambassador to Russia

Palin being considered for Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Obviously no qualifications needed for that job either.

Sarah Palin under consideration for Secretary of Veterans Affairs because in the 4 different colleges she attended there were a lot of vets.
— Resistance Justice (@justiceputnam) November 30, 2016
I wouldn’t trust Palin to run an elementary school bake sale, let alone a VA that’s in desperate need of reform https://t.co/CM8NiBsy1u

But this tweet, from the managing editor of the conservative magazine American Spectator, shows exactly what’s wrong with right wing thinking today. There are attributes known as skills and ability that clearly everyone on the right, from Donald Trump on down, have decided are no longer important. What matters more to them is that someone has expressed a particular feeling or desire, like, Sarah Palin “loves the vets.”
It’s not like the ass-clowns running the VA have done a bang up job. And Sarah Palin loves the vets and has personal motivation to fix it.

In that case, feel free to go out and get a coronary bypass done not by a surgeon but by someone who really loves medicine.
Or feel free to invest your money with an 8-year old who has a lemonade stand.
Or, feel free to hand the keys to the White House over to a person so utterly unqualified it boggles the mind.
Let’s see what that will get us.
