Trump Staffers Seize Control Of Twitter Account, Still Trust Him With Nuclear Codes

NYT Also Reports That Daughter Feared Damage To Brands From Appearing In Campaign Commercial

Donald Trump’s campaign staffers have finally seized control of the GOP nominee’s Twitter account, according to a remarkable new report on the last days of his campaign from The New York Times.

“Aides to Mr. Trump have finally wrested away the Twitter account that he used to colorfully — and often counterproductively — savage his rivals,” the NYT reports. “But offline, Mr. Trump still privately muses about all of the ways he will punish his enemies after Election Day, including a threat to fund a ‘super PAC‘ with vengeance as its core mission. … Taking away Twitter turned out to be an essential move by his press team, which deprived him of a previously unfiltered channel for his aggressions.”

The newspaper also reports that after appearing in an ad, Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, discouraged the campaign from promoting it because she feared damage to the businesses that bear her name. Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign staffers are relying on 270towin.com, the popular website that allows users to create their own winning electoral maps, rather than their own analysis to plan his travel schedule.
