Trump Campaign to Voters Who Have Cast a Ballot for Clinton: ‘You Can Change Your Early Vote’
Trump Team This Desperate?
In a bizzarre and now-deleted tweet Donald Trump Senior Advisor Dan Scavino told Pennsylvania voters they could call a toll-free number if they felt “duped” having voted for Hillary Clinton and change their vote, presumably to Donald Trump.
That number goes to the Pennsylvania Department of State’s Bureau of Commissions, Elections, and Legislation, where voters have a deadline – today – to request absentee ballots.
“We hear you Pennsylvania! Nobody likes to be duped! You can change your early VOTE by calling 1-877-868-3772. Join the MOVEMENT. LETS #MAGA!” the tweet read. An attached image says, “Pennsylvania, Regret voting for Hillary? Want to change your vote?”
It was saved by Kyle Foley, a writer for HeatStreet, who posted a screenshot to Twitter:

Why?
The Hill explains that “Pennsylvania does not allow early in-person voting in the way states like Florida and North Carolina do. Pennsylvanians who want to vote early must request an absentee ballot through the mail and provide a reason as to why they cannot vote in person. Those who typically vote by an absentee ballot include college students, service members and their families.”
The bottom of the absentee ballot request form includes a provision that reads: “Warning – If you are able to vote in person on election day, you must go to your polling place, void your absentee ballot and vote there.” Â Â
After deleting that tweet, Scavino posted this one, adding the word “absentee” to it:
Looking to change early VOTE/ABSENTEE in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, or Wisconsin!?Feeling duped? Despite reports you cant, you can!👇 pic.twitter.com/GSXc6a3GVt

The Wall Street Journal, referencing the above tweet, notes, “Mr. Trump trails far behind Mrs. Clinton in public and private polling in each of the four states.”Â
UPDATE –
Via CNN:Â
“Among the states that do allow voters to change their early ballot after it’s been cast are: Wisconsin; Minnesota; Michigan; Pennsylvania; New York; Connecticut; and Mississippi.”
UPDATE II –
Fox News falsely reported voters in Louisiana could change their votes, leading the Secretary of State to request a retraction:
@FoxNews @tracegallagher reports of voters in LA being able to change vote during early voting are FALSE. Correct pls.
