‘Connect the Dots’
The Manhattan home of New York State Senator Brad Hoylman was defaced with two swastikas carved into the building Tuesday. The Democrat, who is both gay and Jewish and lives with his husband and their daughter, posted the images to Facebook. He says the New York City Police Dept. hate crimes unit is investigating the attack.Â
“I came home this evening to news that two swastikas had been discovered in the apartment building where I live with my husband and daughter in Greenwich Village,” Hoylman writes. “The NYPD Hate Crimes unit is investigating. This comes three days after swastikas were drawn on the doors of nearby students at The New School,” he says referring to the Greenwich Village-based university.
“Meanwhile, Stephen Bannon, an anti-Semitic, white nationalist has been named as the senior strategist to President-elect Donald J. Trump,” he notes. “Connect the dots.”
In the seven days since Donald Trump was elected president, well over 400 acts of hate speech and hate crimes have been committed, many in his name.
