GOP Governor Posts Tweet Inadvertently Supporting Clinton, Gets Mocked by Her Supporters on Twitter

‘If You Like the Past 8 Years, Vote @HillaryClinton’

In 1980 Republican presidential nominee Ronald Reagan asked the American people, “Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”

They concluded they were not, and he won the election.

Perhaps that’s what Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker was thinking when he posted this tweet:

But Governor Walker is exposing his GOP bubble bias.

Because the American people are far better off than they were four years ago and certainly than they were eight years ago.

Let’s remember that eight years ago, thanks to Republican policies, the stock markets around the world had crashed, millions of people in the U.S. lost their jobs, their homes, their life savings, almost overnight.

Today, the unemployment rate is under 5%, which by any gauge is very good — and half what it was as Obama began his presidency after the 2008 crash. 20 million more Americans have health care. Crime has plummeted. Abortion rates and teen pregnancy rates have plummeted. The minimum wage in many states has been increased and for the first time in decades the American people have actually seen overall wages rise. The auto industry was not only saved but is breaking sales records. We’ve doubled the use of many sources of clean energy, like wind and solar. The stock market has tripled.

Same-sex couples can now legally marry across the nation, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act is now law, and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is gone.

In fact, here are 400 accomplishments Obama can take credit for. Here are some more.

In 2008, the nation was falling apart, and President Barack Obama grabbed us from the brink, restored our economy and made America a better place to live.

Is it perfect? Of course not. Do we want 8 more years of improvements on a social justice and economic scale the likes the nation had not seen in decades, if ever before?

Hell yes.

On Twitter, Walker was roundly mocked:
