New WaPo/ABC Poll Shows Trump Has Lost Support Gained After Comey Letter, Clinton Gaining and Ahead

Voters Trust Clinton Over Trump on Most Issues

A just-released Washington Post/ABC News tracking poll hows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by 3 points among likely voters, 47-44, with Clinton rising and Trump falling over the past two days.

FBI Director James Comey’s letter to Congress one week ago Friday initially appeared to have no impact on the presidential race, but polls showed a pull back in enthusiasm for Clinton, and an increase in enthusiasm for Trump. But an ABC News tracking poll just released shows any support Trump gained in the wake of the Comey letter has disappeared, bringing him down to where he was before the letter was released.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton has pulled ahead to where she was before the FBI letter.

Voters also shared their top five issues and say Hillary Clinton is best to address three of the five and matches Trump on one. Trump is rated best to handle only one.

In priority order, voters say their biggest issue is the economy, followed by corruption in government, terrorism, health care, and immigration.

Voters choose Clinton over Trump on terrorism, immigration, and health care. They say both candidates are equally matched to handle the economy, and choose Trump over Clinton on corruption in government.
