Clinton Now Beating Trump by More Than 1.7 Million Votes

Clinton Holds 1.3% Lead Over Trump

A “mandate” for Trump this is not.

Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election but she’s beating Donald Trump by more than 1.7 million votes, according to the 2016 National Popular Vote Tracker, the source most journalists are relying on.

Contrary to some tales, more people voted in the 2016 election than the 2012 election in which President Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney.

Of note in 2016, over 7 million people voted for someone other than Clinton or Trump.

Currently, Clinton holds a 1.3% lead over Trump, but on December 20, barring a stunning move, the Electoral College will award the White House to Trump.

Clinton has already won the popular vote by a dramatically larger number of ballots than anyone in history who did not go on to be inaugurated as president,” The Nation reports.

Trump won 306 Electoral College votes, Clinton 232, although some say Michigan is so close it may flip to Clinton, although not changing the results of the election.

Last week, incoming White House Chief of Staff Reice Priebus lied, saying Trump’s victory was “an electoral landslide.”
