WATCH: As Beyonce, Jay-Z Stump For Clinton, Trump Claims He Doesn’t Need Them

“We Have To Think About The Future Of Our Daughters, Our Sons,” Queen Bey Says

Singer Beyonce and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, headlined a rally and concert in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in Cleveland on Friday night.

In a brief speech (video above), Beyonce talked about the importance of electing the nation’s first woman president, noting that less than 100 years ago, women didn’t have the right to vote.

“Look how far we’ve come from having no voice, to being on the brink of making history,” Beyonce told the crowd. “I want my daughter to grow up seeing a woman lead our country and know that her possibilities are limitless. … We have to think about the future of our daughters, our sons, and vote for someone who cares about them as much as we do.”

Jay-Z, meanwhile, called GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump “divisive” and “not an evolved soul.”

“He cannot be my president,” Jay-Z said. “He cannot be our president. Once you divide us, you weaken us. We are stronger together.”

Meanwhile, with singer Katy Perry set to headline a concert for Clinton in Philadelphia on Saturday night, the Democratic nominee released a campaign ad featuring Perry’s hit song, “Roar.”

At a rally in Hershey, Pennsylvania on Friday night, Trump responded to Clinton’s star power by suggesting that he doesn’t need celebrities because he has “great ideas and great vision for our country.”

Despite his decades in show business, Trump’s biggest recent celebrity supporter was former Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight.
“I hear we set a new record for this building, and by the way, I didn’t have to bring J-Lo or Jay-Z, the only way she [Clinton] gets anybody,” Trump said. “I’m here all by myself. Just me, no guitar, no piano, no nothing.”
