Attorney General Rudy Giuliani, Secretary of State Newt Gingrich: Possible Trump Cabinet Takes Shape

REPORT: ‘Out of Superstition’ Trump ‘Fears Too Much Planning Before a Victory Might Jinx the Campaign’

Top Trump advisers are being looked at for White House positions by the Trump campaign transition team. Among the possible picks in a President’s Trump’s cabinet are Rudy Giuliani as attorney general, Newt Gingrich as secretary of state, and retired Lt. Gen Michael Flynn as defense secretary or national security adviser, according to a report by NBC News’ Katy Tur and Benjy Sarlin citing three unnamed campaign advisers. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus is being looked at as chief of staff.

Trump has been characteristically uninvolved in the process, but for a different reason: superstition.

He fears too much planning before a victory might jinx the campaign. In 2012, he was shocked to read detailed stories on Mitt Romney’s preparations for the White House long before election day,” the NBC News report states.

Meanwhile, Chris Christie, once Trump’s top pick for VP and his closest friend within the campaign, is apparently being left out in the cold. The report says the New Jersey Governor has “drifted from the campaign. It’s not clear Christie is being considered for a significant role in a potential administration either.”
