‘Not One Dime’: Billionaire Blasts Trump as ‘A Father of Lies’ for Not Giving to Charity (Audio)

‘I Can’t Take It Anymore. You’re Lying About That Stuff’

Billionaire hedge fund manager and philanthropist David Tepper on Monday blasted his fellow billionaire Donald Trump‘s terrible record of charitable giving, likening the New York real estate mogul to the devil.

“During Sandy, the big Sandy benefit, the big 9/11 benefit, not one dime. Not one dime!,” Tepper said in a CBNC phone interview. “You can’t tell me this is a charitable, generous person.”

Tepper is the co-founder of Appaloosa Management, a New Jersey based hedge fund. Donald Trump has claimed he has given away millions of dollars to charity, but the Washington Post’s David Fahrenthold, who has been doggedly investigating Trump’s claims, finds many or most of them are, apparently, false.

“The Washington Post has contacted more than 400 charities with some ties to the GOP nominee in an effort to find proof of the millions he has said he donated to them. We’ve mostly been unsuccessful,” a Post graphic states.

In his CNBC interview Monday (above) Tepper grew increasingly angered.

“Trump masquerades as an angel of light, but he is the father of lies,” he told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” The devil, or Satan, is often referred to as the “father of lies.”

Tepper apparently chose to speak out against Trump after a speech the Republican nominee’s wife, Melania, delivered last week.

“Trump’s wife was on TV, and she introduced him as a ‘giving, generous, and charitable person,’ and I got to tell you something. You know I do a lot of stuff in Jersey for charities for the food banks, the pantries. Trump has big operations, the casinos, and 12 [golf] courses here,” Tepper said.

“During the financial crisis. During [Hurricane] Sandy, not one dime,” did Trump give to charity. “Not one dime,” he continued. “I know this first hand. This is fact – not conjecture. Fact: Not one dime to one major food bank, one major pantry in Jersey.”

“Not one during during the people’s greatest hour of need,” Tepper accused. “I can’t take it anymore. You’re lying about that stuff,” he said of Trump. “You’re lying about fundamental beliefs.”
