Despite No Evidence, Trump Links Firebombing Of North Carolina GOP Office To Clinton
Democratic Nominee Condemns Attack As “Horrific And Unacceptable”
Last night the Orange County Republican Party in NC was viciously fire bombed. #ncpol pic.twitter.com/TayJcdMMX1

A local Republican Party office in North Carolina was fire-bombed overnight, with someone painting a swastika on a nearby wall and writing: “Nazi Republicans leave town or else.”Â
Authorities haven’t identified the suspects or made any arrests. Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton condemned the fire-bombing shortly after news of it broke on Sunday:Â
The attack on the Orange County HQ @NCGOP office is horrific and unacceptable. Very grateful that everyone is safe.

Meanwhile, despite no evidence to back up his claim, GOP nominee Donald Trump linked the incident to Clinton:Â
Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning @NCGOP
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 16, 2016
Not surprisingly, Trump’s claim of winning in North Carolina is incorrect. The Real Clear Politics average of polls shows Clinton up 2.9 percent in the Tarheel State.Â
1) The culprit(s) haven’t been identified.
2) No motivation is reported.
3) Trump isn’t winning nationally or in NC.https://t.co/c3JpMUEdUf— Philip Bump (@pbump) October 16, 2016
My God. This is precisely not how you respond to a possible act of political violence. This is so dangerously irresponsible… https://t.co/CQZuZhu5dG

Just curious. How do you already know who did it, even when the cops don’t know? And why aren’t you sharing your Intel with the police? https://t.co/Q6K5DG0Gsc

Beyond the rush to judgment and use of “animals,” Trump’s suggested motive – that he’s winning – is asinine. Clinton’s led last 8 NC polls.

I wrote today that Donald Trump had ceased running a campaign and was now running a vengeance operation. His NC response confirms it.

Donald Trump clearly believes that waiting for facts during an emergency or after a tragedy is a sign of weakness.

Disgusting accusation. These thugs represent themselves. Trump again blew an opportunity to act like a statesman. https://t.co/Z6p9NK2tfA
