Washington Post Blog: ‘Donald Trump’s Chances of Winning Are Approaching Zero’

‘Virtually All of the Vulnerability From Here Until Nov. 8 Is on Trump’s Side’

Chris Cillizza and Aaron Blake of The Washington Post’s “The Fix” blog on Monday say “Donald Trump’s chances of winning are approaching zero.”

They note “three changes to The Fix map this week, all favoring Hillary Clinton.”

Among them, they move Nevada “from ‘toss up’ to ‘lean Democratic’ amid signs that the state is slipping away” from Trump.

They move “Utah — yes, Utah! — from ‘lean Republican’ to ‘toss up’ as independent candidate Evan McMullin, a Utah native and Mormon, continues to show considerable polling resiliency in the Beehive State.”

And they move Texas to their “list of competitive states, rating it as ‘lean Republican.'”

NCRM reported that top poll watching site RealClearPolitics on Sunday moved Texas from “lean Republican” to “toss up.” Clinton in the latest polls is losing to Trump in the Lone Star State by just three points, and the momentum is on her side.

“The Fix” concludes, from their point of view, that “Clinton now has 323 electoral votes either solidly for her or leaning her way. Trump has just 180. (Reminder: You need 270 to win.) And, virtually all of the vulnerability from here until Nov. 8 is on Trump’s side.”

“Everywhere you look, Trump is under-performing where Mitt Romney was at this point in 2012. And Romney only got 206 electoral votes and lost by 5 million or so in the popular vote.”

Could she take Texas?

Are Texas progressives, Democrats, and smart-headed independents and Republicans going to make sure they vote?
