Trump Lies: ‘All of My Employees Are Having a Tremendous Problem With Obamacare’ (Video)

So Does Trump Not Provide Health Care to His Employees?

At a totally impromptu campaign event at the Trump National Doral golf resort in Miami, Florida, dozens of workers, apparently primarily Hispanic, decided to come in front of the cameras to say what a great boss the billionaire businessman is. Donald Trump then proceeded to lie about Obamacare, exposing that he actually has no idea what it is or how it works.

“All of my employees are having a tremendous problem with Obamacare,” Trump claimed. Of course, if that were true, it would mean he does not provide healthcare to his employees. And of course, he does, which means they are not obtaining health insurance via the Obamacare exchanges, and that means he stood in front of the cameras and lied.

“Is that a correct statement?” continued Trump, asking his employees, without bothering to wait for an answer. “You look at what they’re going through with their health care is horrible because of Obamacare. So we’ll repeal it and replace it. But this is about jobs. And we have thousands of employees in Florida.”

Politico notes that all of Trump’s employees “said they were supporting ‘Mr. Trump,’ who repeatedly reminded reporters that the event was impromptu and not at all planned, but he did joke about pressuring them to say nice things about him.”

“This guy better say good,” Trump said as he called a Hispanic man to the microphone. “Or else I’ll say, ‘You’re fired’.”

Trump also claimed Obamacare is “just blowing up,” and accused the Obama administration of lying after it released a statement late Monday acknowledging that many plans under Obamacare will raise premiums about 25 percent next year.

Calling the 25 percent number “phony,” Trump proceeded to claim “60, 70, 80 percent” increases in Obama care premiums next year, which is wholly unsubstantiated.

The Republican nominee minutes later then told reporters, “These are just amazing people…This is what jobs do. Jobs just make lives and they make people and they make families and they’re not worried about their health care because we take great care of people.”

Trump National Doral Miami resort general manager David Feder told reporters “that ‘very few’ employees would have reason to buy Obamacare policies because ’95 percent’ are provided healthcare, which is a large portion of their operating costs,” Politico adds.

UPDATE:
Salon points out that “Trump, as a self-described business genius who employs many people in his huge company, is legally required to offer those employees health coverage.”
