Trump Holds LGBT Pride Flag for 10 Seconds at Rally, LGBT Conservatives Cheer

Trump Polling at 12 Percent Among LGBT Voters

At a rally in Colorado Saturday, Donald Trump grabbed an LGBT Pride flag from an audience member and waves it like a bullfighter before returning it to the crowd. Now, some LGBT conservatives are suggesting once again the Republican nominee supports civil rights for LGBT people, which he does not.

Here’s how Joe Jervis of Joe.My.God. described it: “An upside-down rainbow flag with shitty lettering.”

Trump, of course, is not only opposed to same-sex marriage, he has stated he would put justices on the Supreme Court who would reverse Obergefell, the decision that found same-sex couples have the right to marry. He is also opposed to same-sex couples being allowed spousal benefits. Trump has flip-flopped but finally settled on opposing allowing transgender people to use restrooms that correspond with their gender identity. He promised far right wing Christian conservatives he will “restore faith to its proper mantle in our society,” and his administration “will respect and defend Christian Americans. Christian Americans.”

And Donald Trump has said he will sign the dangerous First Amendment Defense Act, which would carve out special rights for anti-LGBT people of faith to allow them to legally discriminate against LGBT people on religious grounds.

Trump is polling at 12 percent among LGBT voters.

Here’s how some of Trump’s LGBT supporters and LGBT allies supporting the GOP nominee responded:
