Trump on Twitter Accuses Clinton of ‘Inappropriately’ Being Given Debate Questions: ‘She Secretly Used Them!’
Maybe He Should Have Been Paying Attention
Donald Trump late Thursday morning took to Twitter to accuse Hillary Clinton of having received the debate questions, apparently ahead of time. “She secretly used them!” he cried.
Why didn’t Hillary Clinton announce that she was inappropriately given the debate questions – she secretly used them! Crooked Hillary.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 20, 2016
On the one hand it is a stunning statement, accusing your Democratic opponent of cheating, even if you offer absolutely zero evidence, but on the other hand, it’s stupid, because both candidates – and the entire public – were told what the questions would be.
“Chris Wallace, moderator of the third 2016 presidential debate, has selected the topics for that debate,” the Commission on Presidential Debates announced in a press release one week before Wednesday night’s final debate.
Subject to possible changes because of news developments, the topics for the October 19 debate are as follows, not necessarily to be brought up in this order:
Debt and entitlements
Immigration
Economy
Supreme Court
Foreign hot spots
Fitness to be President
If Trump is referring to ANY of the debates, the questions were announced in advance.
If Trump wasn’t “told” what the questions would be, he can blame his cracker-jack team of Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway. Better yet, maybe he should have asked, or been paying attention.
