Texas Is Now Officially a ‘Toss Up’ State

6 States Have Now Moved Closer to Clinton in Under a Week

Top poll tracking site RealClearPolitics on Sunday moved Texas from leaning towards Trump to “toss up.” It’s a remarkable achievement for progressives in what until recently was seen as a deep red state. The RealClearPolitics average for the Lone Star State still shows Trump leading Clinton by 4.6 points in a two-way race, and 4.8 points when factoring in third party candidates, but given recent polls showing Trump ahead by just 3 points the momentum is clearly on Clinton’s side.

With 38 electoral college votes, second only to California, Texas turning going for Clinton would be an upset of historical proportions.

And Texas is not the only state moving closer to Clinton. Over the past few days, in addition to the Lone Star State, RealClearPolitics has moved Georgia, Maine, and New Hampshire from lean Trump to toss up. Michigan and New Jersey have moved from Lean Clinton to Likely Clinton.

In fact, in the past week, only Indiana – home to GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence – has moved toward Trump. It is now Leans Trump.
