LISTEN: GOP Congressman Says ‘A Lady Needs to Be Told When She’s Being Nasty’
Chairman of House Space Subcommittee Says He Agrees With Trump
Republican U.S. Congressman Brian Babin says women need to be told when they’re being nasty. The freshman representative from Texas was defending his party’s nominee’s comments made during the final presidential debate – Donald Trump had called Hillary Clinton, “such a nasty woman” after she jabbed him about reports that say he may not paying taxes for 18 years.
In a Thursday interview with Alan Colmes, Rep. Babin said all Hillary Clinton could do during the third presidential debate was attack. Colmes interjected that Trump had called Clinton “nasty,” as CNN reported.
“You know what, she’s saying some nasty things,” Babin responded, chuckling.
Asked if he think it’s appropriate to call the former secretary of state “nasty,” Babin said, “I’m a genteel Southerner.”
“So that means no?” Colmes asked.
“No, I think sometimes a lady needs to be told when she’s being nasty,” Babin insisted. “I do.”
“My assessment is that Mrs. Clinton has got so much baggage–” he continued.
Pressed on whether or not he thinks Clinton is “a nasty women,” Babin replied, “I think she’s done some nasty things,” and then finally conceded that he did.
Listen:
Babin, 68, is a freshman congressman who previously was a dentist, but now is the Chairman of House Subcommittee on Space. He is also a member of the extremist House Freedom Caucus.
UPDATE:
Rep. Babin is apparently running unopposed — no Democratic challenger.
