Trump Polling At 0 Percent In Detroit Despite Visit To Black Church

Clinton Gets Big Bump Nationally After Debate

Despite his highly publicized visit to a predominantly black church in Detroit last month, Donald Trump is polling at 0 percent among voters in the Motor City.

A WDIV/Detroit News poll of Michigan voters conducted this week found that 89.7 percent of respondents in Detroit supported Democrat Hillary Clinton, 2.6 percent backed Libertarian Gary Johnson, and the remainder were undecided.

ClickOnDetroit.com notes the poll’s sample size for Detroit was only 39 voters, meaning its margin of error is high, but the results are still reflective of Trump’s dismal support among black voters nationwide. Detroit is more than 80 percent African-American.

The Michigan poll, which found Clinton leading in the state 46-39, is one of several indicating the Democratic nominee got a big boost from Monday’s debate, including one released Friday by Fox News.

According to RealClearPolitics, the average of all polls showed Clinton leading Trump by 3.1 points on Friday — up from 0.9 points two weeks ago. Meanwhile, FiveThirtyEight put Clinton’s odds of winning, based on state-level polls, at 67.3 percent — her highest in three weeks.
