Curt Schilling Is Running for Elizabeth Warren’s Seat So He Asked Jake Tapper Why Jews Vote for Democrats

Fired From ESPN After His Transphobic and Anti-Muslim Social Media Posts

Curt Schilling sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper Friday afternoon, and before the seven minute and 24 second interview was over, he had insisted “there is a very long-standing connection between Islam and the Nazi Party,” and asked the host of “The Lead” why Jews in America usually vote for Democrats.

You do remember Curt Schilling, right?

Back in April ESPN fired Schilling, a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played with the Philadelphia Phillies when they won the 1993 World Series.

Why?

This.

Schilling posted the vile, transphobic meme to Facebook. He defended himself by saying he “only” commented on the meme, and didn’t post it, but Outsports’ Cyd Zeigler, who originally reported the news, has a screenshot from Schilling’s Facebook page that shows otherwise, as does USA Today.

“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves,” Schilling wrote. “I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”

The year before ESPN had suspended Shilling after he posted to Twitter a comment suggesting Islamic extremists are comparable to Nazis.

Schilling is now running in the 2018 election to unseat U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Here’s Schilling mischaracterizing his controversial and offensive comments to Jake Tapper Friday:

Schilling then asked Tapper, who happens to be Jewish, why American Jews tend to vote for Democrats.

Perhaps Schilling thought it made sense to ask the award-winning Chief Washington Correspondent the question. Perhaps Schilling thought Tapper was a representative of all Jewish people in America. Perhps it was this tweet:

Or perhaps Schilling is just off his rocker.

“I would like to ask you something as a person who is practicing the Jewish faith and has since you were young,” said Schilling, whom CNN says is “a vocal Donald Trump supporter.”

No surprise there, right?

“I don’t understand – and this is, maybe this is the amateur, non-politician in me – I don’t understand how people of Jewish faith can back the Democratic Party, which over the last 50 years has been so clearly anti-Israel, so clearly anti-Jewish Israel,” Schilling charged.

“I don’t know what else would need to be done, said or happen for people to understand that they don’t – the Democratic Party is alive for Israel only because we have agreements in place to make them have to be.”

After a back-and-forth with an extremely polite Tapper over his question, Schilling then called Hillary Clinton a “criminal.”

Oh, here are some of Schilling’s recent tweets:
