Republican North Carolina Congresswoman Renee Elmers, a Donald Trump surrogate, attempted to dismiss sexual assault allegations against the GOP presidential nominee as “she said, he said” during an appearance Sunday morning on CNN’s “State of the Union.”Â
But host Jake Tapper quickly jumped in.Â
“Just to correct you, it’s a she said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she said, she said situation,” Tapper said, alluding to the fact that nearly 10 women have now accused Trump of sexual assault — which he of course condoned in videotaped remarks in 2005. Â
On Saturday, Cathy Heller became the latest Trump accuser. Heller told The Guardian she met Trump at his Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, nearly 20 years ago while she and her family were having brunch on Mother’s Day. When Trump grabbed her and tried to kiss her on the lips, Heller pulled away.
“And he said, ‘Oh, come on.’ He was strong. And he grabbed me and went for my mouth and went for my lips,” Heller said, adding that he then kissed her on the side of the mouth.
“I was angry and shaken,†Heller said. “He was pissed. He couldn’t believe a woman would pass up the opportunity.
“He can’t claim we’re all liars,†she added.Â
Needless to say, that’s precisely what Trump and his supporters are claiming. Â Â
