Breaking: Dozens of Republican Former Congressmen Denounce ‘Disgraceful’ Donald Trump

‘This Is No Longer About Our Party; It’s Now About America’

Thirty Republicans, all former U.S. Congressmen and one former Senator, have signed an open letter publicly denouncing Donald Trump as “unfit” for the presidency and his campaign as “disgraceful.” It is the largest group of elected officials to ever denounce their own party’s nominee.

The former lawmakers come from across the nation, including Steve Bartlett of Texas, Tom Campbell and Pete McCloskey of California, Tom Coleman of Missouri, Mickey Edwards of Oklahoma, Jim Kolbe of Arizona, and Chris Shays of Connecticut.

“Sadly, our party’s nominee this year is a man who makes a mockery of the principles and values we have cherished and which we sought to represent in Congress,” the letter states.

“This is no longer about our party; it’s now about America.”
