No Attempt to Even Deny It
The Donald Trump campaign Monday morning released a new ad in response to Hillary Clinton saying that half of his supporters are “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic,” but the ad not only fails to in any way deny the accusation, the wording actually effectively admits it.
“Speaking to wealthy donors, Hillary Clinton called tens of millions of Americans ‘deplorable,'” the woman narrating the voiceover in the ad begins.Â
“You could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables,'” a short clip of Clinton’s speech from a fundraiser shows. “Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic – you name it,” Clinton continues.
Immediately, with no denial, the narrator says: “People like you, you, you, and you, ‘deplorable,'” as the video cuts to different shots from Trump rallies.Â
“You know what’s ‘deplorable’?,” the narrator continues. “Hillary Clinton viciously demonizing hard working people like you,” she concludes.
No denial, just outrage – at being called out for their behavior.
