WATCH: Flint Pastor Chastises Trump: I Didn’t Invite You Here ‘To Give a Political Speech’
Classless Trump Gets Schooled
Donald Trump, 55 days before the November election finally – and hastily – made a last-minute trip to Flint, Michigan, where he toured a water plant and visited a historically Black church. Trump gave a brief speech at the water plant where he thanked “very, very good executives,” although it’s unclear for what.
Trump then tried to give a version of his stump speech at the Bethel United Methodist Church but didn’t get very far.
“It used to be cars were made in Flint and you couldn’t drink the water in Mexico,” Trump told the 50 people who came to hear him. “Now the cars are made in Mexico and you can’t drink the water in Flint.”
“China now, you look at what is going on, a trade deficit of $500 billion. Hillary Clinton failed on the economy, just like she has failed on foreign policy. Everything she touched didn’t work out, nothing,†Trump said.
That’s when Bethel United Methodist’s pastor stepped in – literally.
“Mr. Trump, I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint,†the church’s pastor, Rev. Faith Green Timmons said as she walked up to Trump as he was on stage speaking. “Not to give a political speech,†she politely but firmly added.

Politico described Trump as “chastened.” It may be the first time that’s ever happened.
Stunningly, he backed down.
“OK, that’s good. I’m going to go back onto Flint,†he responded.
That was not the extent of Trump’s troubles at Bethel United Methodist.
“You’ve discriminated against Black tenants,†one congregant charged as Trump was getting ready to leave.
“No, I never,†Trump claimed.Â
In fact, Trump has been sued several times by the federal government for racial discrimination. The Huffington Post called racial discrimination “a pattern in his career.”
Pastor Timmons Wednesday morning on Facebook set the tone for Trump’s visit.
“Today is our day! We have our chance to show DONALD TRUMP that this nation is filled with intelligent, wise black citizens of integrity many of whom live right in FLINT, MICHIGAN. What he will see is how we are braving a man-made catastrophe. HE WILL NOT USE US, WE will EDUCATE HIM!!!!”
Well done, Pastor, well done.
